Are you passionate about ensuring the highest standards of animal wellbeing? LabourCo is seeking Expressions of Interest from dedicated individuals who would like to join our team in a crucial role supporting exceptional care for animals under our guardianship.

As a Casual Animal Attendant, you will play a vital role in maintaining operational excellence and ensuring every animal receives the highest standard of care. You’ll also contribute to a positive experience for our customers, volunteers, and the wider community.

Key Responsibilities

Animal Care

• Provide and improve environmental enrichment
• Exercise the animals
• Feed animals as per feeding plans
• Observe animals for injury, illness and behavioural problems and report to supervisors accordingly
• Assist with veterinary examinations as required
• Check animals for identification
• Ensure appropriate housing for animals
• Washing and grooming
• Adhere to animal handling standards and procedures
• Ensure animal, public, and staff areas are clean and cleaning procedures are adhered to
• Record and maintain accurate animal record

Minimum requirements

• Applicants first and foremost must have empathy for animals in care and eagerness to assist with their daily needs
• C Class Drivers Licence (minimum) and own reliable transport
• Experience in customer service
• Experience working in a team environment
• Animal handling skills
• Demonstrated affinity with animals
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Tetanus vaccinations up to date
• Safety Conscious and experienced in fast paced environments

• Flexible mindset to work with various supervisors on different projects around the Tamworth region
• Highly motivated and enthusiastic –Sound judgement, integrity and ethics with a commitment to working collaboratively
