At LabourCo we partner with a number of clients to offer a wide range of opportunities across a broad range of industries. We are currently seeking expression of interests for Casual Pool Lifeguards at Gunnedah Pool.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a number of casual lifeguards for year round aquatic facility at Cessnock, Maitland & Newcastle.
Available for rostered and on-call shifts, you will work as part of a team delivering day to day pool operations at Cessnock, Maitland & Newcastle Swimming Pools including but not limited to, pool operations, maintenance of equipment, supervising pool patrons and assist with ensuring a safe environment for all staff and pool patrons in accordance with latest industry or legislative requirements.
Given that you have a passion for aquatic activities and dealing with people, to be successful in this position you will need to have the following minimum requirements:
Pool Life Guard
- Current accreditation; Royal Life Saving Society – Australia Pool Lifeguard Licence or ability to update/obtain Licence prior to commencement. Funded courses availability in coming months.
- Current First Aid and CPR qualifications. i.e. Apply First Aid, Apply Advanced First Aid, Perform CPR
- Possess a current Working with Children Check.
- Knowledge of pool supervision, water safety, water education, rescue techniques and public safety requirements.
- Great customers abilities and basic computer skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team or with minimal supervision.
Personal Attributes required to succeed in this role
- Flexible mindset with an unwavering commitment to safety.
- Ability to work rostered shifts from 5:30am – 6:00pm (Mon-Sun) and available to fill occasional shifts on an ad-hoc basis.
- Highly motivated and enthusiastic –Sound judgement, integrity and ethics with a commitment to working as a team.
- Ability to managing difficult situations/patrons in an appropriate professional manner.
- Sound problem solving skills and ability to managing competing priorities.
